Interference 1The electromagnetic spectrum is becoming increasingly dense. This results in situations where signals-of-interest (SOIs) are sometimes masked by interference, either intentional or uInterference 2nintentional, that make the desired signals difficult to detect and accurately measure. RAS has developed a number of techniques to mitigate this interference, thereby allowing the SOIs to be detected, measured, and identified. Some of these techniques involve mitigation at RF while others are implemented in the digital domain. RAS is actively engaged in research to improve these techniques for interference mitigation and developing system prototypes for testing in a government lab. These techniques include CARFIS – RF Interference Suppression, TFEX – Time-Frequency Excision IDEC – Interference Detection, Extraction, and Characterization.
