Why RAS? PDF Print

Research Associates of Syracuse (RAS) is a privately-held corporation with operations in Rome, New York. RAS has broad, in-depth experience in ELINT, electronic warfare, and radar measurements and systems. RAS ELINT experience includes sorting, track correlation, specific emitter identification, system distortion, equalization, and compensation techniques as well as the EWIR and KILTING databases. Radar experience includes basic radar phenomena; radar signal collection and analysis; feature extraction algorithms and real-time hardware implementations. RAS is a well-known innovator in the world of signals intelligence. Other strengths include systems engineering, foreign material exploitation, and training.

In recent years, RAS has expanded its capabilities. RAS is now active in network-centric operations and warfare, developing information portals for the Air Operations Center and network electronic warfare training systems for the Air Force. Moreover, through the Electronic Systems Precision Feature Extraction Pre-Processor (ES-PFEP), Research Associates now has an emerging capability in algorithm transition to COTS hardware.

For 20 years, Research Associates of Syracuse has maintained a significant customer base that includes severalĀ  DoD agencies, and defense contractors. Air Force customers include AFRL, AIA, and ESC. Navy customers include NAVSEA, SPAWARS, and NAVAIR. AMRDEC has been an Army customer for several years. Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, BAE, Northrop Grumman, and Litton-Amecom have all been our commercial customers

Our People Are Our Strength

RAS was the 2003 Contractor of the Year for the Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate. Our personnel include an IEEE Life Fellow and an Association of Old Crows EW Technology Hall of Fame member. Our personnel have authored four books on ELINT and EW. We have PMPĀ®-certified program managers. Our personnel have presented training courses and defense seminars throughout the world.

We have approximately twenty engineers, scientists, and program managers on our full-time staff. This staff is augmented with numerous consultants who specialize in various fields that are important in our business. Our personnel form a close-knit team with the customer to define operational requirements, establish achievable programs, and then execute them on-time and on-budget.
