"Not a single electron wasted". This was the directive to RAS from the USAF Air Force in 2003, describing the DOD's desire to use every RF collector operating on the battlefield.

RAS heard the call and established the NCOW business thrust to pull non-traditional EW sensors into the ELINT mix. Soon US and NATO decision makers will have the benefit of EW information (locations of hostile emitters) streaming from friendly strike fighters and attack helicopters.

RAS's Shooter-Sensor System-of-Systems (S2SOS) concept makes every shooter also a sensor, able to contribute every threat it sees to the battle commander's combined operating picture (COP). We demonstrated this capability in August 2004 and very soon, ACTDs and ATDs will bring this capability to our Warfighters.
